The club welcomes Margaret Craig and Robert Smallwood. They hope to make Coffs Harbour their home and we look forward to seeing them regularly.
Dorothy Booth, member of the club for many years, died late July. Dorothy was not only an avid bridge player for many years but also President of the Golf Club. Fifteen bridge players/friends attended her funeral. She was 89 and will be missed by her family and friends. Our condolences go to her 3 sons and their families.
Beginners lessons have started again and a novice section is taking place on Thursday afternoons; the first being on the 23rd of August . Hopefully many new players will benefit from these. On the social front the club held a Handicap Sunday at the end of July and the annual Anniversary Teams is being held on Thursday 9th August
Its the time of year when the Bridge Club is getting ready for its annual Super Congress and the club is a busy place at the moment. There are over 80 teams and nearly 150 pairs. Its a great time of year and the weeks play at Opal Cove promises to be a full exciting one.
